Another month is here. This month we are observing Global Customer Service Week (Oct 2 to Oct 6) to celebrate you, our dear customer. As you know, at UMB, our customers come first and identifying your needs and wants is the driving force that inspires us to exceed your expectations.  Hand in hand we take the journey to pioneer the way in this fast paced market; so on the occasion of Global Customer Service Week, we thank you for your loyalty, dedication and your unflinching commitment to our brand.

As part of our ongoing 45th anniversary celebrations, we recently visited the Chief Imam and held a Thanksgiving Service to give thanks to the Lord Almighty for His divine mercy and favour. To celebrate 45 years is a wonderful achievement and we are eternally grateful to the Lord for his infinite blessings.

Last month, we opened the third installment of our visionary financial services concept for small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs), the UMB Centre for Businesses, in Kasoa in the Central Region.  Kasoa is a fast growing and vibrant city with diverse commercial activity and we want to support the growth and development of SMEs within the Kasoa catchment area through our specialized UMB Centre for Businesses.

Throughout our history, UMB has been a source of innovation, creativity and technological advances. I am proud to say, we plan to continue this legacy of leadership in the market as we have a number of promising new products in our research and development pipeline. I assure you that our next product will significantly improve the way you do business with us.

Part of our service pledge is to offer our customers a variety of banking services and that is why I am happy to inform you that all UMB ATMs now accept UnionPay International cards. This means that both UMB customers and non-UMB customers can now make withdrawals from any UMB ATM with their UnionPay International card.

While our constant desire to improve will change some of the things that we do as a bank, we will always continue to exercise ethical business practices, maintain a respect for you and run our business in ways that earns us the trust of all stakeholders. We will be making some changes to our internet banking platform before the end of October aimed at improving the ease of use and availability of that channel.
