Happy New Year! With a new year comes new goals, new challenges and new opportunities. This year, 2018, is a year in which we want to set outstanding records; best ever customer service, formidable sales and marketing drive and record growth on all channels.
I will like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who joined our annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols event on Thursday, December 21, 2017 to draw down the curtains on what was a remarkable 45th Anniversary celebrations. Special thanks to the past staff members of UMB who were there on the night to grace the event. On behalf of the bank, thank you for celebrating our 45th Anniversary with us.
This year we are surveying our customers extensively to understand how UMB can serve them better and to ascertain our brand positioning in this highly-competitive industry. In the past year, UMB rolled out quite a number of innovative projects meant to improve on our service offering and we will continue to roll out many more in our quest to fully digitalise our bank the best way possible.
These improvements will make UMB an even better and efficient business and will enable us to set the records and achieve our audacious 2018 goals. With the support, dedication and hard work of all our staff, I am very confident that through teamwork, persistent effort and firm performance from everyone of us, we will exceed our stakeholders’ expectations and ensure we all have our best year yet.
UMB will also continue to significantly expand its business locations nationwide in addition to looking for good business partners. In the coming weeks, we will officially open our Sunyani branch to the public and then complete the relocation of our Tarkwa branch to a more spacious and accessible location in the business district in Tarkwa. I encourage our customers in those areas to visit us and experience superior banking and financial services but note that we will be rolling out more operating touch-point avenues in the course of 2018 to make your experience with us more fulfilling and seamless across all our distribution channels.
I must admit it took long in development but if it must be done, it must be done well. And I am happy to say that our path-breaking mobile banking application is finally ready for market. Our mobile banking application will bring banking to your fingertips like never before, more like a UMB branch in the palm of your hands. So look out for the official media launch very soon.
