Happy new month, everyone! Before anything else, let me wish all Fathers a happy Father’s Day in advance. This month is lining up to be a wonderful one already.


As announced in January this year, “Digitizing Customer Experience” is our bank’s 2018 theme and we are fully committed to staying true to this promise. In line with our theme, our mobile banking application, the UMB SpeedApp, will soon be free of data charges for Android and iOS device users. This means that even with zero credit/data balance on your phone, you will still be able to use the app. Essentially, you no longer have to worry about your data or call credit to use our UMB SpeedApp because we have taken care of it for you. The coming weeks will be very exciting at UMB. Some of the activities include a Market Forum where we will engage and sensitize opinion leaders in Accra’s central business district on our innovative mobile banking product, UMB SpeedApp. Also, the first of our three-part SME Clinic series will come off on June 11 at our UMB Centre for Businesses in Kasoa – followed by Madina and Ashtown on June 25 and July 16, respectively. We have rolled out the first phase of the UMB SpeedApp in-branch customer engagement campaign where customers and non-customers who download and sign up for the app stand a chance of winning exciting branded souvenirs.


Last month, our bank sponsored the maiden edition of the Centre of the World Golf Tournament organized by the Ghana Tourism Development Company, held at the Tema Country Golf Club (TCGC) in Tema. The tourney was highly attended as over one hundred golfers across the country teed off in the men and women categories. Now this month, we are happy to announce our association with Ghana Golf Association’s 2nd Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament to be held at the Royal Golf Club, Kumasi on June 16, 2018.
