Overview

Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) through its Registrar Services Department offers a range of services specialized in the management of share registers for both listed and unlisted companies. The Department handles twenty-four (24) public companies, of which ten (10) are listed, and fourteen (14) are unlisted, including nine (9) rural and community banks.

Major Activities

The Department handles activities covering IPO set-up of Share Registers, updating shareholder records, share registrations; attending to shareholder enquiries as well as the status of deceased shareholders, lost or misplaced  share certificates and dividend warrants correspondence with investors; processing dividends; preparing and collating records of proxies and attendees at Annual General Meetings (AGMs) undertaking all other programmes under Corporate Actions for the various companies, provide reports on investor details; dealing with Depository activities; and dealing with Regulatory duties.
The Department is located within the Merban House building in Accra. However, its services can be accessed through any of the UMB Branches nation-wide.
